Let’s Celebrate LA !

If i had to choose a day that made my 2018, then that day would be September 30.

Originally my plan was to walk the entire thing but I just decided to go straight to the Hollywood Hub and wait until it was time for Jeff Goldblum and The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra’s performance on the Hollywood main stage. My friend and I arrived to the main stage around 10:50 and we were able to get a good view from the front. We waited and while we did, The LA Philharmonic String Quartet and Rivers Cuomo performed. It was such a good performance and I especially loved the LA Phil Quartet.

After waiting 10 minutes for the band to set up and tune, The Grand-master himself, Jeff Goldblum went on stage and I screamed my lungs out (and eventually lost my voice). Obviously the only song that they performed that i know the name of is Cantaloupe Island. That song is truly a top jazz standard and the band played it to perfection. Goldblum is truly such a humble person and he noticed my friends and i multiple times throughout his performances. The Mildred Snitzer orchestra truly blew my mind, especially the saxophone player (as of this writing, i forgot his name. I’m so sorry amazing saxophone player).

After two tunes, vocalist Hayley Reinhart went up on stage to perform with Jeff Goldblum. Hayley’s vocals just blew me away and she is truly one of the great artist of this generation. They performed their song “My Baby Just Cares For Me” which is off of the debut album Jeff Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra: The Capitol Studios Sessions (which i already pre-ordered). The overall 1 hour concert at the Hollywood Hub was so amazing and it made my year.

The overall celebration was so good and congratulations to the LA Philharmonic for their 100th season. After that day at the celebration, I am going to the Rock Well to see Jeff Goldblum perform again, take a picture with him and teach him what Skinny Legend means (poor Jeff was so confused when someone screamed skinny legend). Videos are up on my Instagram so here are just some pictures!

I hope to have a upload schedule especially since i want to write more blogs since a lot is going to happen for the rest of the year. You guys should really keep up with my Instagram (@fridaa.orozco). Until next time 🙂
